Thanks so much to you and Jess for a wonderful course, I thoroughly enjoyed it and came away the most confident I have ever been following a first aid course.

First Aid for Life was established in 2006 by Emma Hammett, prompted by frustration at the lack of good quality courses taught by experienced and suitably qualified trainers. As a qualified Nurse, First Aid Trainer and mother, Emma knows how important it is to have hands on practice and really understand what needs to happen in those first vital minutes of an emergency situation. First Aid for Life quickly established an outstanding reputation for delivering top quality First Aid training adapted to ensure that it is relevant to the people attending.

We care whether you feel confident and in addition to providing superb practical training, we give you an excellent Adult or Paediatric First Aid  manual to accompany the course and are also very happy for you to contact us at any point following the course, for clarification on any First Aid issues or concerns. We aim to equip you with the skills and confidence to know what to do should the unexpected happen. We do not teach by rote, but use varied and practical teaching, illustrated with real-life examples, to help you to understand what you need to do and why you need to do it.

Like The Red Cross and St John Ambulance, we are approved and monitored by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) (Through the system implemented by Qualsafe). As independent providers however, we are able to teach in small groups with varied course content adjusted to be totally relevant to your needs.

Our Trainers are all medical or emergency professionals, who have used their First Aid in the real world and know what they are talking about.

The feedback from our courses is outstanding.

I attended your Emergency First Aid course run by Jess on Saturday and I wanted to pass on my uttermost thanks for the confidence and reassurance she gave me to step forward today when a man collapsed in the the street. I had to do CPR on him and unfortunately I don’t know the result as another more experienced first aider came on the scene, followed by paramedics. When I was asked to leave the area, the defib was being used. Anyhow I simply wanted to pass on my sincerest thanks to Jess for helping me to help him as much as I could and while I hope to never have to go through it again, I am so grateful for the skills I was given.                  Caroline Hoskins
